We are located just one mile off Interstate 380 and 7 miles east of Waterloo. 2016 estimated population is 809.

The City Council of Raymond, Iowa will meet in regular session on February 19, 2018 at 6:00 p.m. at City Hall.

                                                     PUBLIC HEARING NOTICE



Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held by the City Council of Raymond, Iowa in the Raymond City Hall located at 101 1st St in Raymond, Iowa at 6:00 p.m. on February 22, 2018. The purpose of this hearing is to solicit citizen input on the proposed ordinance amendment by amending Chapter 45 Public Offenses. 

Amend Section 45.23(2) of the Code of Ordinances of the City of Raymond, Iowa by as follows:      

  1. Regulations.  It is unlawful for any person to use or explode any fireworks; provided the City may, upon application in writing, grant a permit for the display of fireworks by a City agency, fair associations, amusement parks and other organizations or group of individuals approved by City authorities when such fireworks display will be handled by a competent operator. Allowed time periods are as follows: 
  • July 3rd through July 5th from 8:00 PM until 11:00 PM
  • December 31st from 8:00 PM until January 1st 12:30 AM
  • Permit fee:  $20 for a 2-day permit   

No permit shall be granted hereunder unless the operator or sponsoring organization has filed with the City evidence of insurance in the following amounts:

  • Personal Injury: -$250,000.00 per person
  • Property Damage: -$50,000.00
  • Total Exposure: -$1,000,000.00

The public is invited to attend.  A copy of the associated information for this public hearing is on file for review at Raymond City Hall, 101 1st St., 319-232-6153.  Any persons wishing to be heard on this matter will be afforded the opportunity to be heard. Hawkeye Valley Area Agency on Aging meals are offered on a contribution basis for people over 60 years of age. Actual cost for the meal is $7.26. People under the age of 60 must pay the actual cost. Meals are offered on a contribution basis to those ages 60 and over. Meals are offered at the United Method Church in Raymond at noon on Wednesdays. For more information, to reserve a place or order a meal, call the Senior Center at 319-272-2086. 
February 7th - Birthday Meal:  Roast Beef, Brown Gravy, Whipped Redskin Potatoes, California Vegetable Bldn, Wheat Roll, Birhtday Cake, Margarine.
February 14th - Ash Wednesday & Valentine's Day:   Tuna Loaf, Corn & Macaroni Casserole, Capri Vegetable Blend, Wheat Roll, Strawberry Shortcake Cookie.
