Garbage Collection
Waste Management provides garbage and curbside recycling services to residents. Each resident is provided a 96 gallon garbage container (green lid) and a 96 gallon garbage container (yellow lid).
Unless a holiday falls during the week, garbage is picked up every Monday and curbside recycling is picked up every other Monday. See the recycling schedule for more information.
The cost is $12/month and is billed through Waterloo Water Works along with water and sewer charges.
Curbside Recycling
The following items can be recycled:
- Tin & Aluminum containers
- Glass bottles and containers
- Newspapers, magazines, junk mail
- Office and shredded paper (contained in paper bags)
- #1 through #7 plastics (milk jugs, shampoo containers, butter containers, water bottles, detergent bottles
- Corrugated cardboard and chipboard (cereal boxes, cardboard, cracker boxes, poster board)
Please be sure to rinse cans and bottles before recycling.
Items NOT accepted:
- Styrofoam
- Aerosol cans
- Batteries
- Paint, oil or other household hazardous waste
- Plastic bags
- Household garbage
- Liquids of any kind
Please place recycling bin (the one with the yellow lid) at least 3 feet away from your garbage bin and mailbox and on the front curb of your property before 6 a.m. on the day of pickup.
Yard Waste
Residents may dispose of christmas trees, grass clippings, garden waste, flowers, leaves, branches and cut-up wood from downed trees (less than 6” in diameter) at the Evansdale Yard Waste Center. Residents are asked to remove the clippings and leaves from bags and take bags with you.
Located on the river side of the dike in Deerwood Park next to the Waste Water Treatment Plant.
Yard Waste Center Hours: 7 am – 7 pm seven days per week.
Cost is $0.50 per month per household and is billed to residents on through Waterloo Water Works along with garbage, sewer, and water charges.
Library, Water, Sewer
The City has contracted with Dunkerton Public Library to provide Library servicews to the residents of Raymond.
The library is located at 203 Towers Street, Dunkerton.
Water
The City of Raymond has contracted with Waterloo Water Works to provide water to residents of Raymond.
Residents are billed monthly based on their usage. In addition to usage, all residents are billed $17/month for improvements made to the infrastructure in 2020.
Sewer
The City of Raymond has partnered with the City of Evansdale to provide sewer services to residents of these communities.
A new sewer plant was completed in 2024. To pay for the new plant, all residents are billed a flat fee of $95/month per household which is included with the water bill sent to residents each month from Waterloo Water Works.
